The Evan Joseph Gerstein Foundation was formed to honor the memory of Evan Gerstein, who died at the age of seventeen from a fungal infection in his heart, which was a complication of his treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Evan loved all things scientific, so the Foundation aims to advance research in areas that affected Evan, including:
